FAQ (FREQUENTLY
ASKED QUESTIONS)

FAQ

What if I'm uncertain about Anglicanism?

Yes, for sure! The message is not “change, then come”. No, it’s “come as you are and enjoy," exploring Anglicanism as a Christian faith with others.

What events are available for newcomers?

Newcomers are always welcome. Following the 10:30 AM sung Eucharist, we gather for coffee and snacks as fellowship in the Parish Hall. The Maintaining and Growing the congregation committee hold newcomers dinners. This is a great time to get to know us better and to meet both other newcomers and also regular visitors. Check out the events page for activities to suit your interests.

What can I expect?

You can expect a warm welcome, a nurturing spiritual experience and a moment of peace with God and yourself. There will be uplifting music, friendly people and positive teaching that we believe will encourage you in whatever stage of life you are currently in.

What Anglican Liturgy does St. Mark's follow?

St Mark’s regularly has Said and Sung Eucharists (Book of Alternate Services) on Sundays at 8:00 AM and 10:30 AM respectively. High Mass is held on Feast Days and Holy Days with processions and incense. Traditional Evensong (Book of Common Prayer) is sung by the Junior Choir on the first Wednesday of the month at 4:30 PM.

Is there a Sunday School for children?

Insufficient numbers of children preclude weekly Sunday school. Children including those in the Junior Choir under 12 enjoy their own church bulletin related to the week’s theme. These bulletins contain games, puzzles and colouring to help children understand the theme of the week. Children sit at an activity table at the back of the church during the sermon and prayers of the people.

Is parking available?

Free on-street parking is available around the church and Parish Hall.

Is there disabled access?

Yes, both the Church and Parish Hall have disabled entrances. For the Church, it is through the Lady Chapel on the south side of the building. There is an elevator to the 2nd floor of the Parish Hall opposite the lobby atrium. Fully accessible facilities exist on both floors of the Parish Hall.
