ALL SAINTS DAY
FLOWERS THIS WEEK
October 25: Given to the Glory of God and in memory of Geoff and Prue Dale, Barbara Hughes, Harold and Lucy Cooke, Gordon and Helen Dale, by Helen Brathwaite.
THIS WEEK’S READINGS
Should you wish to follow the Lectionary at home, here are the readings:
Isaiah 25: 6-9; Psalm 34:1-10, 22; 1 John 3: 1-3; Matthew 5: 1-12
Through The Cat’s Meow we can gather in the names of those who are suffering in body, mind or spirit at this time and for whom you have a special concern and we can each undertake to lift them up in prayer before God.
For those who are living in fear for whatever reason;
For patients in hospitals and residents of long-term care facilities, and their families;
For the lonely and forgotten in this time of social isolation;
For those who are living on the margins of society;
For those whose burden is too deep for words.
For Gail Rowe and her family. For Sheila Goering.
For the souls of all the departed and for those who mourn.
Let us have names by next Friday and they will be included in the next issue.
We are delighted to thank you all for your generous response to Fr William’s Thanksgiving letter. We have received more than $3,000 in addition to regular givings.
All Souls Day
Don’t forget to attend the All Souls walk with Fr William in the cemetery tomorrow, Nov. 2, at 4:30 p.m.

Holding on to Hope
On the eve of a historic election and in the midst of pandemic and racial reckoning, Presiding Bishop Michael Curry will call Americans together for a live-streamed prayer service from Washington National Cathedral. The Holding on to Hope service will be held today on All Saints Sunday, November 1, at 4:00-5:30 pm EST.
In addition to Bishop Curry’s sermon, the service will also include reflections from Father James Martin, a noted Roman Catholic author and commentator on American life and values; and Valarie Kaur, an inspiring Sikh filmmaker, author, and civil rights attorney.
“We hope people everywhere will light a candle and join us in prayer at this urgent moment in our national life,” Bishop Curry said. “As people of faith, we believe in the power of prayer and the power of God’s love to heal a nation and change this world.”
