Prayer Book Evensong is led by the Cantate Singers (previously known as the Junior Choir) on the first Wednesday of each month at 4:30 p.m.

Centering Prayer is held on Thursdays,  3.00 in the mezzanine

Blessing of Animals: TODAY, 3.00 pm. Bring your beastie –hairy, furry, feathered or scaly – to be blessed.

Eucharist & Pot Luck: October 16. Eucharist at 5:15 p.m. By then you’ll be tired of leftover turkey. So eat with us and enjoy a variety of things you didn’t have to make. See poster in hall lobby. Sign-up sheet on bulletin board.

New Head Chorister and Deputy Head – Congratulations to Kate Legakis and Killari Geale Quispe who will be installed today as Head Chorister and Deputy HC of our young Cantate Singers.

Looking for more singers – Our adult choir would welcome a tenor and a bass (or two or three!). If you know of someone who might enjoy singing with us, please encourage them to consider joining. Randy Mills would be happy to contact anyone as well – just let him know!

Donations for Harvest Sunday, October 13: Members of the Chancel Guild will decorate the church on Saturday morning, October 12. Please bring your donations of fruits and vegetables to the church on Friday morning or Saturday at 9:30am. After the services the items will be given to local programs for those in need.

Doctrine of Discovery Learning together about it and its effect on the Indigenous people and their land is important to our understanding of, and move to, reconciliation. St. Mark’s will host three of the four sessions in the series starting on Saturday morning, October 26th.We will start with the documentary film, “Stolen Lands, Strong Hearts” and continue with facilitated small groups and peakers. To register please see the poster at the back of the church.

AURA Ride For Refuge – AURA, The Anglican United Refugee Alliance is holding its annual appeal Ride For Refuge this month. Christians are called to welcome the stranger. AURA has been inspiring and supporting Church based refugee sponsorship groups since 1985. St. Mark’s had direct experience with AURA when The River of Hope group sponsored a Syrian family who have successfully settled in Cobourg. We couldn’t have done it without AURA! Parishioners are invited to support AURA with a donation to the Church with AURA on the memo line any time in October.
