We have a winner! Sue Leslie from Cobourg is the winner of the Quilt Draw. I met with Sue on Monday and she was thrilled to receive the quilt. She says she has been buying tickets for our quilt for years and is delighted to have finally won one. Thanks again to our St. Mark’s Quilters for creating this lovely quilt. – Gwen Duck

December 7, 7.30—Tous les Matins du Monde. Alain Corneau, dir., 1992. A cellist, Marais, falls in love with his teacher’s daughter, Madeleine. Banished from the house, Marais continues to learn through Madeleine. Alas, Marais grows content with what he’s learned and abandons her for the glories of Versailles. At the twilight of his career all that’s left are memories and thoughts of what might have been.
December 14, 7.30—Diva. Jean-Jacques Beineix, dir., 1981. Kaleidoscopic images of sex and action unfold when bike courier Jules makes a bootleg recording of his operatic idol Cynthia. Diva’s distinctive New Wave look is as much a part of the film as its observations on alienated youth in 1980s France.
January 18, 7.30—Monsieur Hire (1989).
January 25, 7.30—Choose Me (1984). .
