Morning Prayer–Thursday and Friday at 9.30 in the rectory.

Centering Prayer–Thursdays at 3.00 in the mezzanine.

The Flowers this week are given to the Glory of God and in memory of Bob Gifford; Grace, Howard, and Bill Jordan; and Margaret (Hayden) Millett, by Nathalie Gifford.

 Christmas Flowers.  You are invited to donate to the cost of the Christmas flowers. Envelopes are in the pews. Indicate if you wish to have names in memory or thanksgiving listed in the bulletin. Make out cheques to St. Mark’s Church and add ‘Christmas Flowers’ in the memo line. Members of the Chancel Guild will be decorating on Saturday Dec 22. 

Christmas Services

Nine Lessons and Carols for Christmas — Dec 23 at 4 p.m. Reception at the rectory after.

Christmas Eve Eucharist – Incense will be used at this service. December 24, at 5 p.m.

Christmas Day Eucharist  Traditional language, no incense. December 25, at 10 a.m.

The funeral for Wayne Ragotte will be held at St. Mark’s at 1 pm, Wednesday, Dec. 26, with a reception to follow in the parish hall. Some parishioners will remember Wayne’s wife, Margaret, who used to sing in the choir. Margaret is now in Extendicare, Port Hope, and her family says she is eager to have visitors.

2019 ENVELOPES AVAILABLE The 2019 boxes of envelopes, for those not on Pre-Authorized Remittance (PAR), are available at the back of the church TODAY . If you would like to go onto PAR instead of having envelopes, please contact either Cathy Carlyle, 905-885-2651 or Jenn Mitchell, 905-885-4071.  If you know of parishioners who are unable to be at church before the end of the year, it would be helpful if you could take their box to them.

The Giving Tree  A cheque in the amount of $2,555 has been gratefully received by The Giving Tree/Salvation Army. A friend of St. Mark’s donated $1,000 and the remainder was generously donated by you. Thanks and Merry Christmas!!

Jacob’s Ladder, Advent issue, is now available at the back of the church. Thank you, Dorothy! Don’t forget to pick up your copy!

 2019 Church Calendars are in!   Get yours now at Coffee Time or the office! Still a must-have bargain at $5.00

FOOD BANK DONATIONS: Don’t forget our neighbours! Thank you to all  who give regularly and place non-perishable items in the basket inside the church entrance. Cereal (hot and cold), pasta sauce, canned goods, peanut butter, Kraft Dinner, Ensure, pet food, etc., are always welcome. Personal care items are needed: toilet tissue; diapers; shampoo; toothpaste and toothbrushes..

A Request from the Convenor of the “Christmas at St. Mark’s” Artists and Artisans Sale When you are unpacking or packing up decorations (ornaments, wreaths, and the like), consider passing on any gently-used items that you no longer want.  Donations of this kind sell well at our St. Mark’s table. Please contact Peter (905-885-6706 or if you have questions.  Yes, we have storage. Donations (well marked) may be left in the library and will be moved to the mezzanine storage.
