The Liturgy of the Palms 14 April 2019
|Holy Week Services:
Maundy Thursday, April 18: 6 pm Eucharist, foot washing, procession of sacrament to the altar of repose. Church open till 9.00 pm.
Good Friday, April 19: Stations of the Cross—10.30. A light collation will follow. Liturgy of Good Friday—12 noon.
Holy Saturday, April 20: The Great Vigil of Easter—7.30 pm at St. John’s. Readings and First Eucharist of Easter. Incense will be used at this service.
Easter Sunday, April 21: Said Eucharist, 8.00 Procession & Sung Eucharist, 10.30
Anointing for Healing is available at both Eucharists today. At 10.30 go to Lady Chapel after receiving communion.
You are welcome to join us for the Angelus following the postlude at 10.30. Icon table at the back.
Morning Prayer: Tuesday and Thursday. 9.30 in the rectory.
Centering Prayer: Thursday at 3.00.
Wednesday Eucharists in April take place at St. Mark’s.
The palms are given to the glory of God and in memory of Frank and Millie Harding, Ray Poste, Doug and Rick Harding and Jim Rogers by Carol and Steve Poste.
The Eucharist & Potluck scheduled for April 24 is cancelled. The next Eucharist & Potluck will take place on May 15 at 5.15.
Tenebrae scheduled for Good Friday, April 19, is cancelled.
Preparation for Easter Sunday: On Saturday, April 20th the church will be decorated and spring cleaning will be done by members of the church. Anyone who is able is asked to come at 9:30am with gloves, cleaning supplies and ‘elbow grease’. Coffee and cake and fellowship will follow.
The next Greenwood dinner will be on May 1st. The menu will be meatloaf with vegetables, salads and desserts. Please sign up at the back of the church.
Training in the Sexual Misconduct Policy of the Diocese. All parish volunteers are expected to attend a session every three years. Those in high risk positions, that is those working with children, vulnerable adults or finances, are required to attend The workshop is booked for Sat. May 4th from 10 a.m. to 12 noon in the Mezzanine. Ann Smith will be in touch with those who must attend.
