January 18, 7.30–Monsieur Hire.
Patrice Leconte, dir., 1989. A tale of loneliness and erotica, middle-aged Hire lives in a black and white world of outward propriety. Neighbour Alice is sunny and colourful. At the centre is a sadness fuelled by murder, false judgement, and baseless suspicions.
January 25, 7.30–Choose Me.
Alan Rudolph, dir., 1984. A late-night radio host, a drifter, and a female bar owner, cross paths in a story told as it might actually have happened: co-incidental meetings, dumb misunderstandings, random chance, the endless surprises of human nature. Told in a film-noir setting of shadow and night, but not without optimism.

The next Greenwood Coalition Dinner will be on Wednesday, January 30 at St. John’s. The menu will be Shepherds Pie with vegetables, salads and desserts. The sign-up sheet will be on the board at the back of the church.

Frost Fest: February 8, 5.00–7.30 at St. Mark’s rectory. Otherwise known as a 5 à 7, will consist of drinks, hors d’oeuvres, and conversation.
