St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Port Hope

Fourth Sunday After Pentecost Sunday 17 June 2018

Taizé Eucharist–Today at 10.30, we will worship in the style of Taizé. Taizé is an ecumenical monastic community in France known for its meditative songs and style of worship. The monastery attracts thousands of pilgrims each year, and has exported its sense of the spiritual to Christians around the globe.
Today’s worship is an experiment. And as with most experiments, this one is not likely to be perfect the first time round; once we’ve experienced it, we will no doubt wants tweaks and changes. It is my wish that this style of worship, on an occasional basis, will engage you and touch you. RM+

Morning Prayer–Tuesday and Thursday this week at 9.30 in the rectory.

Centering Prayer–Thursday at 3.00 in the Mezzanine.

Godly Play–for children four to ten. Friday July 20, 27, August 3, 10, from 10-12 noon. Godly Play is a Christian education program based on Montessori principles. It encouraged kids to wonder, question, discover, and be creative.
As there is no extra room in the church, space will be made upstairs in the “Sunday school” room. This will require the removal or rearrangement of tables and some other furniture. I will need the assistance of one person (the doorkeeper) and people to provide a light snack, the “Feast,” an integral part of the program.

Summer Art Camp will take place from August 20-24.
