Bless the Animals Service – Today at 3:00 pm we celebrate the feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of all animals. As our pets are a blessing to us, so we ask God’s blessing on them.

Parish Coffee TalkSunday, October 28, after the 10.30 Eucharist. Bring your questions, comments, concerns, and compliments to coffee hour. No agenda, no voting. This is an opportunity for you to talk about anything you like concerning St. Markʼs.

Five Minutes Monthly–Sunday, November 4, following the 10.30 Eucharist. The readings will come from Thomas Mertonʼs New Seeds of Contemplation and Mertonʼs Palace of Nowhere, by James Finley. Readings will be available next Sunday on the shelf at the back of the church.

Thanksgiving Challenge–St. Markʼs and other organizations have been challenged to hold a dinner or party, with dinner-goers making a donation to the Greenwood Coalition. I proposed last Sunday that I hold a dinner party in the rectory on Tuesday, November 6. This might turn into a bi-monthly event, with proceeds going to a different charity each month. If you would like to be on the guest list for the first dinner, let me know soon. Randy+

Phantom of the Handbell – The Johnson Ringers of Trinity College School will perform a 45-minute twilight concert of scary handbell music for Halloween, including Phantom of the Opera and Pirates of the Caribbean. Mon. Oct. 29, 6pm at the School’s Memorial Chapel, 140 Ward St., Port Hope – admission is free. Info: please contact director Randy Mills.

Hollyberry Bazaar meeting today October 14 following the 10:30 service in the Quilters Room. Please join us as we finalize the plans for this year’s bazaar on November 3.
