Tuesday, Tea and Theology (The St. Mark's Book Club)
The first (and very lively) session was held Tuesday, Oct. 13 on the Borg/Wright book, The Meaning of Jesus: Two Visions. We now have a list of books for some future sessions. The dates and titles are given below. N.B. Some books take quite a while to get, esp. God's Secretaries. It is suggested that you order both Desire of the Everlasting Hills and God's Secretaries now so as to be ready for the next two meetings. Schedule (all meetings 3 to 4:30 p.m. in Room 2, Parish Hall) Nov. 10 - Thomas Cahill, Desire of the Everlasting Hills: The World Before and After Jesus Dec. 8 - Adam Nicolson, God's Secretaries: The Making of the King James Bible Jan. 12 - Thomas Berry, The Great Work: Our Way into the Future Feb. 9 - Deepak Chopra, How to Know God: The Soul's Journey into the Mystery of Mysteries March 9 - Kathleen Norris, The Cloister Walk April 13 - Karen Armstrong, Muhammad: A Prophet for our Time May 11 - J.S. Spong, Why Christianity Must Change or Die |
